While there is a great deal of research on contributing factors towards job satisfaction and an even greater amount of research on Information Technology (IT) project success, there are few studies that focus on job satisfaction of project managers and its relationship to successful project completion. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between job satisfaction and project success among IT project managers. Information Technology (IT) is an important infrastructure and business process enabler in organizations. However, implementing new IT systems almost always involves significant organizational change. This dissertation followed the position argued that in today's rapidly changing business environment all projects have to be managed strategically in order to create economic value and competitive advantage, which may be another way of viewing project success. Improved project success may be related to job satisfaction based upon the perspective of each individual. Previous studies have not clearly identified nor demonstrated the relationship between improving the success rate of projects and job satisfaction.
